One to the First Power was founded in 2014 after years of working in education and witnessing firsthand the profound impact that passionate, intentional educators have on learners, families, colleagues, and communities. The vision was born from a simple but powerful truth: the greatest transformations happen when we pour a piece of ourselves into others.
As a classroom teacher, the most meaningful growth came when I invested deeply in my students and their families. As a district literacy coach, I saw remarkable progress in my 37 teachers when I supported them with authenticity and care. As an educational leader, real change emerged in schools and communities when I led with heart. Through each role, I not only witnessed external transformation—I found a fuller, truer version of myself.
Now, as a higher education Program Chair, I see that same potential unfold in students, faculty, and colleagues when I continue to pour into others. As a global presenter, the deepest connections with audiences are built when I lead with personal investment and purpose. And as a mother, I see the most profound growth in my own children when others take the time to pour into them.
This journey has affirmed a belief at the core of One to the First Power: we each possess a unique gift—a power—to pour into others and help them reach their highest potential. And in doing so, we ourselves grow, evolve, and become more of who we’re meant to be.
